I am beginning to get *REALLY* pissed that I can’t find a GOOD, PROFESSIONAL, EXPERIENCED web designer (or organisation) here in Perth that isn’t out to gouge.
I’m not looking for half-assed, "we’ll give it a shot" or "lemme have a go cos I’m learning php"… I want someone who can really build & design and I’m prepared to throw a decent amount of money at it.
But there only appears to be 3 type of Web Designer in Perth:
#1: Template-Based
#2: Beginners
#3: Freaks who do not return phone calls or emails – have great looking sites, but all their work looks virtually the same for every client
I seriously thought there was a big community of web designers in Perth?! Perhaps I need to go out wider?
I’ve got RFQ’s in with 2 places right now, but they’re taking forever.
Do you know of someone (or are you someone) who can:
#1: Start now (or very soon)
#2: Do quality work reasonably quickly with Documentation
#3: Do professional quality graphic design
#4: Code a *very* simple web app/database in PHP/MySQL from scratch
AAargh. Maybe I should just go hire a person full time to do it.

When I was a Manager at one of Australia’s Largest Resource Companies, I was encouraged to reward outstanding performance.
One way of doing this was small gifts. Movie Tickets, Dinner for 2 – that kind of thing. Twee and boring.
It would have been terrific to have had a resource where I could find all sorts of wonderful gift ideas in one place. Not boring tangible gifts – but actual unforgettable life experiences.
That pretty much describes Big Thanks.
It lists a great many of the fun experiences you can have in Western Australia and lets you buy that experience for yourself or someone deserving.
